Prepare your workspace

Work in a well-ventilated area. Lay out your applicator brush, gloves, mixing bowl, heated cap, and flat iron. Protect surfaces with a towel.

Shampoo twice — no conditioner

Wash hair twice with Go Deeper Cleansing Shampoo or Smooth Service Shampoo. Do not condition. This clears all product buildup and opens the hair fibre for maximum penetration. Work for 5 minutes on virgin or moderate hair, 2 minutes on overly porous hair.

Towel dry and section

Blot until approximately 80% dry. Do not blow dry at this stage. Section into 4 quadrants and clip.

Choose your formula

Select the correct Hair Controller formula for the hair. Thick & Coarse for afro-textured, dense, or resistant hair. Wavy & Curly for wavy, curly, or frizzy hair. Thin & Delicate for fine, bleached, or colour-treated hair.

Apply the treatment

Working from the nape upwards in 1cm sections, apply Hair Controller 0.5cm from the scalp through to the ends. Thin & Delicate: use a light, even hand. Thick & Coarse: saturate fully — do not under-apply.

Heat activate under cap

Place the heated processing cap over hair and process on high heat. Thin & Delicate: 30 minutes. Wavy & Curly: 45–60 minutes. Thick & Coarse: 60–90 minutes.

Do not rinse — blow dry immediately

Remove the heated cap. Do not rinse. Blow dry completely on high heat, pulling smooth as you go. Hair must be 100% dry before flat-ironing.

Flat-iron to seal

Flat-iron at 230°C in thin 1cm sections — 5–7 slow passes for wavy/curly hair, 7–10 passes for thick/coarse. Do not rush. Each pass seals the treatment into the fibre.

The 72-hour rule

Do not wash, wet, clip, tie, or tuck hair behind ears for 72 hours. This allows the bonds to set fully. After 72 hours, wash with Smooth Service Shampoo — never a clarifying or sulphate shampoo.
