For fine and colour-treated hair
Keratin treatment for thin hair.
Most keratin treatments are too harsh for fine hair. QIQI Thin & Delicate is the exception — calibrated specifically for thin, colour-treated, and bleached hair. Eliminates frizz without flattening volume. Professional-grade. Apply at home. Results last up to 5 months.
Why thin hair needs a different formula.
Thin hair has a narrower cortex and fewer cuticle layers than thick hair. This means it absorbs chemical treatments faster and is more vulnerable to over-processing. A keratin formula designed for thick or coarse hair will penetrate too deeply into fine hair — leading to limp, lifeless results or worse, breakage.
QIQI makes three formulas for exactly this reason. The Thin & Delicate variant uses a gentler concentration that works with the finer hair structure rather than overwhelming it. The result is smooth, frizz-free hair that still has body and movement.
This is especially important for colour-treated or bleached thin hair. Chemical lightening already weakens the cuticle — applying an aggressive keratin treatment on top compounds the damage. Thin & Delicate is safe for colour-treated hair, including highlights, balayage, and toner services.
What results to expect.
Frizz eliminated
GuaranteedThe cuticle is sealed shut — humidity cannot penetrate. Fine hair that normally frizzes in damp weather stays smooth and polished.
Shine dramatically increased
GuaranteedThin hair often looks dull because the raised cuticle scatters light. Keratin treatment lays the cuticle flat — the result is intense, glass-like shine.
Volume preserved
TypicalUnlike heavier treatments, Thin & Delicate does not weigh hair down. Body and movement are maintained while frizz is removed.
Blow-dry time halved
TypicalFine hair dries faster after treatment. Styling time is reduced significantly — most people save 20–30 minutes per wash.

Application tips for thin hair.
Fine hair responds differently to keratin treatment. Follow these guidelines for optimal results.
Use less product
Thin hair absorbs faster. Apply a thin, even layer — less than you think you need. Over-application on fine hair leads to heavy, greasy results.
Lower temperature
Use 180°C (356°F) for flat ironing. Never exceed 200°C on fine hair. Thin sections, smooth passes. Quality over quantity.
Skip the roots
Start application 1–2cm from the scalp. Fine hair at the roots can go limp if treated — keeping the root area untouched preserves natural lift.
Is this the right formula for you?
QIQI makes three formulas. Using the wrong one on thin hair risks over-processing.

Keratin treatment for thin hair — FAQ
Is keratin treatment safe for thin hair?
Yes — but you must use the right formula. Standard keratin treatments are too strong for thin hair and can cause over-processing, breakage, and limp results. QIQI Thin & Delicate is specifically calibrated for fine hair — it smooths and controls frizz without flattening volume or weakening the hair shaft.
Will keratin treatment make thin hair look flat?
Not with the correct formula. The Thin & Delicate formula is designed to eliminate frizz while preserving natural body and movement. The result is smoother, shinier hair that still has life — not flat, plastered-down hair. The key is using a formula made for fine hair rather than a generic one.
Can I use keratin treatment on bleached thin hair?
Yes — QIQI Thin & Delicate is safe for bleached, highlighted, and chemically processed hair. Wait at least 4 weeks after bleaching before applying. The formula is gentle enough that it smooths without further compromising already-sensitised hair.
How long does keratin treatment last on thin hair?
Up to 5 months with correct aftercare. Fine hair sometimes shows faster fade than thick hair because the cuticle layer is thinner — but using sulfate-free shampoo from day one makes a significant difference. Most people with thin hair get 3–4 months of strong results.
Which QIQI formula is best for thin hair?
QIQI Hair Controller Thin & Delicate. It is the gentlest formula in the range — specifically designed for fine, colour-treated, bleached, and chemically processed hair. The Thick & Coarse and Wavy & Curly formulas are too aggressive for thin hair and risk over-processing.
Will keratin treatment thicken thin hair?
Keratin treatment does not change the thickness of individual hair strands. What it does is smooth the cuticle — which makes hair appear fuller, healthier, and shinier. The reduction in frizz and flyaways also gives the impression of denser, more polished hair. But it is not a volumising treatment.
What temperature should I flat iron thin hair during keratin treatment?
For thin and fine hair, use 180°C (356°F). Do not exceed 200°C. Higher temperatures risk heat damage on fine hair. Use thin sections and pass the iron smoothly — fewer passes at the right temperature gives better results than more passes at lower heat.
